Summary: On a small number of peak days, Madonna di Campiglio limits how many SkiArea day tickets it sells to keep the slopes safe and enjoyable. Alto.Ski Pay-as-You-Ski (PPU) is not capped, so you can still ski with your Alto.Ski card even if day tickets sell out.

What is the “Ideal Number”?

  • A quality-and-safety measure used on the busiest days of the season.

  • When the live headcount on the slopes reaches the resort threshold (c. 14–15k skiers), sales of SkiArea day tickets may be paused for that day.

Pricing does not increase because of the Ideal Number; it’s purely a capacity cap for day tickets.

When does it apply?

The resort has flagged two main periods for Winter 2025/26:

  • New Year: 28 Dec 2025 – 5 Jan 2026

  • Carnival: 15 – 22 Feb 2026

(Other high-demand days may be added by the resort.)

Who is affected?

Potentially limited:

  • SkiArea day tickets (single-day) may sell out once the threshold is reached.

No limitations (you can still use these):

  • Alto.Ski Pay-as-You-Ski (pay-per-use cards)

  • Multi-day passes (2 days or more)

  • Season passes

  • Foot passenger tickets

  • Tickets for Pinzolo and Folgarida-Marilleva

Good news for Alto.Ski customers

  • You’re not capped. Alto.Ski Pay-as-You-Ski remains valid even when day tickets are sold out.

  • No pre-booking required. Link your card, walk to the lifts.

  • Best price, automatically. The app applies the best available product (e.g., hourly/afternoon/day or consecutive-day where supported) and shows real-time spend on your Home screen, with an end-of-day breakdown (gates, products, prices).

Quick checklist (Peak days)

  1. Link your card via NFC (or re-use a compatible RFID card) in Alto.Ski.

  2. Pin the Resort widget (Hotel & Resort Connect) for live lifts, webcams, weather and price lists.

  3. Arrive early if you can. The resort may run “Ski Early” on peak days (early lift openings).

  4. If friends are buying day tickets, advise them to purchase in advance on the resort channels—those can sell out.
